An Installation on Political Power, Greed and the Climate Emergency

 

Reckoning is a multi-media installation that dramatizes how heedless greed and political malfeasance have brought us to the brink of an environmental catastrophe. A video of nature scenes is projected on a bas-relief wall of masks portraying the 45th President of the United States. Though initially peaceful, the scenes are interrupted and eventually overwhelmed by videographic evidence of the effects of global warming. 

 

Donald Trump’s image represents the danger of climate change denial and the reckless destruction of environmental regulations, agencies and institutions that took place under his administration. It also creates a dark mirror for the viewer–a reminder of the capacity for denial and selfishness that exists within each of us. Click here for a preview.
